Carphone Warehouse //
Music Anywhere // Voucher cards

The Brief:

Having previously worked on elements of the myHub brand, Creative Direction were approached by the Carphone Warehouse to design three voucher cards for ‘Music Anywhere’. This is an innovative service that allows its users to store all their music in one place and access it from any device, be it an iPod, mobile phone or a friend's laptop. These voucher cards had to capture the essence and excitment of this product yet be compact and eye catching from a retail hanger in store.

Solution:
A 4" x 6", two-sided hanging card. The designs displayed are two possible outcomes, illustrating that Music Anywhere is a completely free-to-roam product, enabling you to access to all your music from wherever you are in world.
The Abbrevisaurus

The Brief:

The Abbrevisaurus started as a self-initiated research project, looking at the several hundred abbreviations that are used in the English language today. A good example of these abbreviations can be found in the Guttenburg Online Thesaurus, where they follow every defined word.
However, there are no clear clues as to what these all-important letters mean or what they related to, so I set myself the brief to design a printed piece of informational media that defined and made clear the important abbreviations that are found in the online thesaurus.

Solution:
A self-designed, printed and bound, colour-coded book of the abbreviations within the first section of The Guttenburg Online Thesaurus.
The Bourbons // Album Cover

The Brief:

The Bourbons, a Jump Blues Jazz band based in Bath, approached me to design their latest album titled ‘At Home With The Bourbons’. The focus was to find a style that captured the essence and character of this spirited band and make it altogether ‘homely’!

Solution:
An album cover inspired by the retro-classic instruments and equipment, as well as the band's individual style.
A photoshoot was art directed to produce the cover imagery, using several pieces of the band's belongings. The images were then laid out with appropriate typography, re-creating an 'At Home' look and feel.
Bath Literature // Poetry Taxi //
Promotional Posters

The Brief:

The Bath Literature Festival briefed students from the University to design a set of promotional posters for the Poetry Taxi. The taxi is a popular attraction in the festival's calendar and involves members of the public sitting in the taxi and having poetry read to them by the cabbie. The idea of a taxi was first used to move the poetry festival around the country, giving everyone a taste of the magic!

Solution:
A set of promotional posters featuring a 3D serif typeface, displayed in the various sites that the Poetry Taxi was located. Photographed in situ, the removable type represented the mobile nature of this event.
